Dr. Claud Anderson is a successful author and widely recognized as a leading intellectual in America. His experiences span education, business and all levels of government. He served as State Coordinator of Education for Governor Reubin Askew of Florida during the tumultuous years of integration. President Jimmy Carter appointed him to the rank of Assistant Secretary of the US Department of Commerce where he chaired a commission that funded and directed economic developmnet activities for governors. He was the executive director of two economic development organizations for the City of Miami, Florida. As the highest ranking black on the planning committee for the 1988 Democratic Convention, he awareded 37% of the contracts to blacks, a record that has not been reached or broken.
Dr. Anderson is president of the Harvest Institute, a black research organization in Washington, D.C and is involved in a number of projects to redevelop inner cities and to help Black America become more self-sufficient and competitive.
